A native of Richmond, Virginia, Erin Bomboy trained as a classical ballet dancer before spending a decade as a professional competitive ballroom dancer. She holds an MFA in Dance Performance and Choreography from New York University Tisch School of the Arts where she was mentored in dance criticism by Deborah Jowitt. Erin has taught at New York University, DeSales University, and Muhlenberg College. Currently, she works as the managing editor of The Dance Enthusiast as well as an independent writer, editor, and teacher in the dance field in New York City where she lives with her husband and daughter. In 2018 and 2019, she coordinated the Dance Magazine Awards.
She is the author of The Pas de Deux: A Classical Ballet Romance (“a powerful saga”: Midwest Book Review), The Piece: A Contemporary Ballet Novel (“a compellingly vivid story”: Midwest Book Review), and The Winner: A Ballroom Dance Novel (“one of the best books I've read this year”: Library of Clean Reads). In her free time, Erin enjoys bacon, books, cats, and wine.
