A native of Richmond, Virginia, Erin Bomboy trained as a classical ballet dancer before spending a decade as a professional competitive ballroom dancer. She holds an MFA in Dance Performance and Choreography from New York University Tisch School of the Arts where she was mentored in dance criticism by Deborah Jowitt. Erin has taught at New York University, DeSales University, and Muhlenberg College. In 2018 and 2019, she coordinated the Dance Magazine Awards, and from 2013-2015, she was an event planning assistant for the Symphony Space Gala. Currently, she is the managing editor of and a senior contributor to The Dance Enthusiast.
She is the author of The Pas de Deux: A Classical Ballet Romance (“a powerful saga”: Midwest Book Review), The Piece: A Contemporary Ballet Novel (“a compellingly vivid story”: Midwest Book Review), and The Winner: A Ballroom Dance Novel (“one of the best books I've read this year”: Library of Clean Reads).
Erin lives in New York City with her husband, daughter, and furr-tastic cat (for real, check him out here). In her free time, she enjoys bacon, books, cats, and wine.
